Twyning Village Green

The Village Green is common land and open to public use.

Well, that is, within reason. Owned by Twyning Parish Council there are several annual events and weekend events in the Summer that the Parish Council allow the Green to be used for Community events and occasional commercial events. Anyone is entitled to use the Green for personal use e.g to have a picnic, kick a ball around, play family cricket or just to take a stroll. If you want to organise a more formal event you will need consent.

Can I use the Village Green for an event?

You may be able to use the green for a community event - you might even be able to for a private event if more that personal use, however either way you will need the consent from the Parish Council. Additionally as this is common land you can't prevent anyone else from joining in, even if it is a private event.

All you need to do is apply to the Parish Council. The Village Green Working Group will then review your application and decide if it is appropriate. They will need to know you have Public Liability Insurance Cover and also that you can carry out a Risk Assessment, proof of both to be with them before the event.

Please be aware that householders need permission from the Parish Council if they undertake work to any driveways across the surrounding verges.

Parking on the village green and verges is not permitted.
